Aren't great stories the best? They're such captivating, transformative magic.
My goal is to entertain and inform others just like my favorite stories have for me. I create engaging content as a journalist-writer-editor and have been lucky enough to do it for over 13 years, publishing award-winning work in California, Colorado, and national media outlets.

You can find my news and feature writing in The Los Angeles Times (mainly in community newspaper Times OC), The Daily Pilot, Orange Coast magazine, the Sundance Film Festival website (Sundance.org) and others.
Some of my editing highlights include polishing print and digital content for the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, and developing travel guides and other marketing publications for cities in the Los Angeles area.

The arts, entertainment, culture, human interest, travel, health, events and others. I’m drawn to good stories, no matter the topic.
My story:
I’m a born and raised native of Ft. Collins, Colorado, living in the Los Angeles area. My journalism aspirations began at age 12, when I read a stunning feature story in National Geographic about 21st-century slaves (the September 2003 issue, if you’re curious). I was intrigued by the power of storytelling and its endless possibilities for good, whether that involved shedding light on injustice, informing, or entertaining others. The idea of combining verbal and visual creativity to do it was appealing as well.
I began working as a freelance journalist and editor shortly after I moved to California in 2018. In the years prior, I wrote for local publications in Northern Colorado, completed internships for photography and videography, competed as a collegiate track and cross country runner, graduated with a journalism degree from Colorado State University, and moved to Denver where I worked as a multimedia producer for a sports media company.
Things I do for fun:
Trail run, hike, explore the LA area, attempt to cook international cuisine, travel, nerd out about books and movies with my husband, salsa dance, photograph landscapes and travel adventures, propagate plants, and, apparently, write sentences with lots of commas.
